In the Boards pursuit to make this chapter the best it can be for its members we have decided to add a Social Media Chair. The Social Media Chair will help start and upkeep a LinkedIn page and our chapter website. Social Media Chair
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, develop, and edit communication for organization’s website and social media presence
- Coordinate approved content featured on centraliowaapa.com and chapter’s social media page (LinkedIn). Ensures content is current and accurate.
- Identify ideas and collect proper information through fellow chapter members and external sources for use in chapter’s social media page (LinkedIn).
- Ensure content is fresh, relevant, and up-to-date and support ongoing development of chapter goals.
- Create and maintain digital content calendar.
This position must be held by a member in good standing of the local Central Iowa Chapter. Regular attendance of monthly chapter meetings and board meetings is required.
The Chapter is always looking for new places to meet. If you know of a great place that can easily hold around 50 people, has food on-site or allows catering, has AV equipment and speakers can easily be heard please let us know! Email [email protected]
Registration for the Fall Iowa Employment Conference has now opened up. This year it will be at The Meadows Events & Confrence Center on October 23. See attached poster of this years highlighted speaker.
National Payroll Week is just around the cornor, September 2-6. Show Gayla and the rest of the chapter your payroll department really knows how to celebrate our field! Plan something big and supply pictures to the Chapter for a chance to win a prize!
Our Statewide conference has been set for Friday October 25th at Prairie Meadows.
We have just confirmed that our Nation American Payroll Association speaker will be Jim Medlock, CPP. Jim recieved his CPP designation in the early '80's and has been involved with the APA ever since. In 1991 Jim was named the Payroll Man of the Year and stated working for the APA in 1992. In December of 2018 Jim retired from the APA after 26 years, but wants to continue to inspire payroll professionals around the country.
The 2019 Virtual Congress & Expo is an online experience that comes complete with educational workshops, a full-service Expo, and plenty of engaging virtual interaction and networking opportunities with fellow professionals and industry expert service providers.
Once the live event, presented on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 and Thursday, May 23, 2019, is over, workshops and general sessions will be available on demand through August 23, 2019.
